Attack on polio workers causes killing security policeman
In-Tank Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a
security official was martyred for the second day in a row in an attack on
polio workers.
Since the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban
Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire deal with the government, this is the second
terrorist attack.
Terrorists opened fire on an anti-polio
squad in Shadagra village, Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to
police sources, killing security policeman Nazir Ahmed.
As soon as the tragedy was reported, a
large police detachment went to the scene and transported the slain officer’s
body to the hospital. The area was cordoned off and a search operation was
initiated.
The incident occurred on the second day after a polio worker was attacked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a police officer was martyred, and the TTP truce came to an end. The cop was killed by unknown gunmen, according to Deputy Commissioner Tank Kabir Khan Afridi, while the accused managed to flee.
